Inverted widefield microscope, equipped with a cage incubator for live cell imaging, the AFC (Adaptive Focus Control) hardware focus control tool and a fast and sensitive CMOS camera (Zyla, Andor).

The system is equipped with fast filter wheels (DAPI, FITC, TRITC, Cy5) for the acquisition of fast biological processes and a wide range of fluorescence filter cubes, including a set dedicated to FURA-2 ratiometric calcium indicator.

The available contrast methods are fluorescence, brightfield and phase contrast.

The system is fully motorized and includes the Navigator tool for the acquisition of specific regions of the sample (mosaic and multipoint acquisition), the 3D rendering tool and the Leica deconvolution tool.

The microscope is also equipped with the TIRFm (Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence Microscopy) optical sectioning module for visualizing basal membrane processes or, more generally, biological processes occurring within a thickness of approximately 250 nm from the interface between the sample and the adhesion substrate, both on fixed and living samples. TIRFm module is equipped with three dedicated laser lines (405 nm, 488 nm, and 561 nm).
