The IVIS Lumina III scanner is an easy-to-use instrument that allows for 2D imaging with up to 50 micron spatial resolution, based on the acquisition of bioluminescence and fluorescence using a high-quantum-efficiency CCD. It operates in the 300-900 nm range and is equipped with 26 computer-controlled filters. The instrument is motorized and heated and allows for images with a variable FOV between 5 and 12.5 cm on each side. The computer connected to the instrument is equipped with Living Image software, which allows for advanced analyses, such as the removal of autofluorescence and the separate quantification of multiple fluorescence signals.
