At the Cryo-Electron Microscopy Laboratory of the Centro Grandi Strumenti, a system was developed to maintain ethane in its liquid state, essential for cryo-microscopy. It consists of a thermally insulated container with liquid nitrogen cooling and an internally mounted brass cell regulated by a PID system with thermocouple feedback.
